The Dudley Panthers Varsity Baseball Seize Victory Thanks To Late Triple, Drop Mount Airy 9-5

The Dudley Panthers Varsity and Mount Airy volleyed the lead five times on Saturday, but the Dudley Panthers Varsity came out on top for a 9-5 win on Saturday.

The Dudley Panthers Varsity finally managed to grab the lead after a strong seventh inning. The Dudley Panthers Varsity scored on a three-run triple by Christian Cokely off Alex Clead, scoring Camden Williamson, Elyjah Harrisand Randy Norris.

Harris racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Dudley Panthers Varsity. He singled in the fourth, fifth, and seventh innings.

Dantae Miller got it done on the mound on the way to a win. He allowed two runs over four innings. He struck out one, walked two and surrendered four hits.

Clead ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out two, and allowed four runs.

The top of the first saw the Dudley Panthers Varsity take an early lead, 1-0. Miller got things going for the Dudley Panthers Varsity with a single. A stolen base then moved Miller from first to second. Chase Williamson singled, scoring Miller.

It didn’t take long for Mount Airy to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the fourth. Mount Airy scored on a two-run double by Clayton Cogdill.

Mount Airy tied the game in the sixth on a passed ball that scored Cogdill.
