Elon Softball’s Million Tabbed CAA Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore Carey Million of the Elon University softball team was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week on Monday, March 23, as announced by the league office.

This is the first career weekly accolade for Million after the Roebling, N.J., native batted 11-for-18 (.611) last week with six RBI, three doubles and a home run. She also had a .944 slugging percentage and collected a hit in each of the Phoenix six contests last week including four multi-hit games while helping the maroon and gold to a 4-2 overall mark.

She went 2-for-3 with the go-ahead home run in the bottom of the sixth in Elon’s 10-4 win against East Carolina last week. She also had a 1-for-3 performance with two RBI in the Phoenix’s first-ever victory as a member of the CAA in its 4-2 win at College of Charleston.

Million joins freshmen Hannah Olson and Kiandra Mitchum as the other Phoenix players to receive CAA weekly accolades this year.

Elon is back in action tomorrow as the Phoenix hosts Radford at Hunt Softball Park at 2 p.m.
