Elon Men’s Golf Sits Sixth After Two Rounds of Seahawk Intercollegiate

WILMINGTON, N.C. – Led by Charlie May’s even-par performance over two rounds, the Elon men’s golf team holds the sixth position on the team leaderboard after day one of the Seahawk Intercollegiate. The Phoenix shot rounds of 299 and 294 for a total of 593 on Sunday, March 29.

May’s first round was a two-over 74, but he rebounded with a two-under 70 over his final 18 holes of the day to finish at 144. May’s performance has him tied for third, just two strokes back of co-leaders Peter Kim of Army and Georgia’s Lee McCoy.

Troy Beaver sits at four-over with a 148 (74-74) and is tied for 19th at the conclusion of day one. He is followed by Jonathan DiIanni who carded rounds of 72 and 78 to tie for 29th with a mark of 150 after 36 holes.

Two strokes back in a tie for 36th is Will DiIanni (152) who shot a 79 over his first 18 holes, but knocked six strokes off his score over his second round.

Finally, Jake Leavitt sits 63rd in the field of 78 with a mark of 158. Leavitt carded rounds of 81 and 77 on Sunday.

Campbell leads the 14-team field after two rounds with a score of 584.
