  1. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again…..the Metro is NOWHERE even remotely close to as competitive a league at the Piedmont Triad….and before any of you start getting nuts about it….I didn’t say better….I said more competitive….whether you want to believe it or not….If there were a conference challenge…the PT would win going away every time….

  2. I haven’t seen anyone say the Metro is better than the Piedmont Triad. The only people that ever bring this up are the Piedmont Triad fans. I agree the PT is better than the Metro but SEG has every right to say they are better than the PT teams since they seem to win when they do play teams from that conference although a limited sample size I believe.

  3. Southeast is a better hitting team than NW this year.
Aker threw 6 innings that night gave up
    7 hits with 1 walk and 12 K
Steed is a good pitcher, he threw 7 innings
    3 hits with 5 BB and 5 K

  4. Didn’t Ragsdale beat SE last year at home? I believe SE threw Sweet in that game also? Ragsdale threw their number 4 guy!

  5. Andy We have a question that we’re hoping you or someone else can answer…We have heard that SE was caught having an illegal player on their baseball team this season. The young man is a senior who lives in Dudley area but he has been playing for SE. This was discovered when SE played SA and the player in question was not allowed to play that game or the two games against Dudley. ( a non Dudley person turned him in)

Now if we remember right, this past football season Dudley was accused to playing an illegal player and they were stripped of their undefeated season so our question is, is there a special circumstance of why SE was not stripped of their season? Granted, SE has a good team and again, we would hate to see the actions of a Coach or parent not following the rules hurt any player or team but the rules are the rules and it looks bad for one team to be penalized for a rule and to see another allegedly break a similar rule in the same school year without any type of explanation.

  6. The young man had to sit out two games last week while the county did their background checks and the young man was cleared and was allowed to play last night…

The young man has been attending Southeast Guilford schools since back when he was in grade and the question about his eligibility just came up last week…

Southeast did not know of any issues, so you really can’t blame them since they had never been questioned about this in the 11-12 years prior to now…

Sounds like this is on the county and if they missed something then someone should have been alerted long before now…

Doesn’t appear that there was any deception on the part of Southeast Guilford and if a mistake was made it was made by the county and you really can’t lower the boom on SEG now for something the county had been missing for many years…

Again, don’t think SEG was trying to deceive anyone and the county handles each situation on a per case basis and since they ruled that the case was not punishable for the long term, then the County has said “play on” for SEG after the young man sat out two games while the county looked into this…(Per Investigation)

Just one person’s opinion, mine and I hope everyone can move on from this….
