  1. There have been a few changes, but most of these are now set in stone..

Don’t expect too many more changes and most of the changes came from the lower seeded teams overall….

  2. I see some rather long distances for schools to travel to have a 1st round playoff game….so these kids will get back at midnight or later and be expected to be in their homeroom seats the next morning without penalty…I have an idea…pod style format….4 teams 1 location….Friday and Saturday….NCAA regional format….eliminates the one and done that has a lot of people up in arms….allows easier travel….allows parents to make a 3 hour trip….make it 32 in each class instead of 64…playoffs not so watered down….32 best overall winning percentages….not 5-17 team that is in a split conference that automatically gets in….I’m all for the experience of travel….but what are we going for here…..riding on a bus for 3 hours on a Tuesday night or educating a kid….

  3. I don’t believe we are sacrificing the future of our country due to some kids missing their home room one day. I do agree with the wanting quality games but with HS budgets I would imagine some of those split conference must exist.

  4. For example, Ragsdale gets on a bus at lets say around 2 or even 3 today….thus leaving school early and missing part of class….they play at 7 in Charlotte….games goes 2 maybe even 2.5 hours….game finishes at 9:30 if they’re lucky….post game stuff til at least 10….activity bus ride home of 1.5 hours….getting them to Jamestown at almost midnight….15-18 year old kids on the road when most don’t have their 9’s off….thus making parents who wish they could’ve made the trip but couldn’t get off work in time…sitting in the Ragsdale parking lot after midnight….good plan NCHSAA…..

  5. My guess is that the Ragsdale players would vote for what they’re doing tonight vs playing someone close by, maybe someone they’ve already played this season (and maybe even a team from within their own conference).

  6. Gee..it sounds like those poor Ragsdale boys are going to be scarred for life for having to travel all the way across the world to play in Charlotte.

what has the world come to????

  7. Just for general purposes: Glenn High will volunteer to drive anywhere – Charlotte, Asheville, New Bern, New York – if we are STILL PLAYING with a chance to win it all. And the head coach will provide breakfast and toothpicks for eyelids the next morning after a win. Heck, he’ll go to each kid’s class and take notes for them if STILL PLAYING. 😉
