Board considers renaming the stadium after retired teacher and coach, Brett Stell

The community has 30 days to comment on a proposal to name the Western High baseball stadium after former coach, Brett Stell.

Stell taught at Western for more than 30 years and coached the baseball team for 13 of those years. In that time, his teams went onto win two state championships and several conference championships.

In his nomination of Coach Stell on behalf of the Western Guilford Baseball Boosters, Enad Haddad writes, “Brett Stell was a positive role model for his students and the players he coached. He encouraged his students to think for themselves and challenged them to be the best that they could be. He equipped his students with the tools necessary to be successful in college and beyond.”

GCS employees and the community are invited to comment on the nomination for the next 30 days via email to gcscomments@gcsnc.com or via courier or U.S. Mail to Western Region Office, GCS Attn: Naming of Baseball Stadium at Western High School, 900 English Road, High Point, NC, 27262.
