Gehrig should return to Greensboro Grasshoppers action by June 1

Miss Lou Lou Gehrig out With Patellar Tendonitis Should Return to Duties June 1

(Greensboro, NC) The Greensboro Grasshoppers announced today that Miss Lou Lou Gehrig is out for two weeks as a result of significant soft tissue swelling around her patellar tendon of her right knee. X-Rays were performed, and the findings are consistent with tendonitis or acute trauma to the right kneecap area. Lou Lou has been prescribed a course of anti-inflammatory pain medication and activity restriction (bedrest), and will be rechecked in two weeks. She is expected to make a speedy and full recovery.

“I hate that Lou Lou is hurt but am happy it is nothing more serious,” said Grasshoppers President and General Manager Donald Moore. “We were afraid she might have torn her Cranial Cruciate Ligament which would have required surgery and put her out of action for the rest of the year.”

Three year old Lou Lou is being groomed to take over for the legendary Miss Babe Ruth, who recently announced her retirement effective at the end of the 2015 season.

The Grasshoppers return home for seven games next Monday at 7:00PM against the Hagerstown Suns and Lakewood Blueclaws. For ticket information call 336-268-2255 or go to www.gsohoppers.com.
