Kannapolis Post 115 falls 8-2 at the hands of Eastern Randolph Post 81

Eastern Randolph Post 81 beat Kannapolis Post 115 on Saturday 8-2 at McCrary Park in seven innings.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 scored three runs in the fourth on Eastern Randolph Post 81 scored in the fourth on a solo home run by Nick Nelsonand a two-run home run by Zack Burke.

Burke racked up two RBIs on two hits for Eastern Randolph Post 81.

JT Moore picked up the win for Eastern Randolph Post 81. Moore allowed two earned runs, five hits and one walk while striking out four over six innings of work.

Cole Lippencott was charged with the loss. He allowed eight runs in 3 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out one.

The top of the second saw Kannapolis Post 115 take an early lead, 2-0. David Grimm singled to start things off before Casey Ritchie doubled, scoring Grimm. The scoreboard lit up again for Kannapolis Post 115 when Ritchie scored on an RBI single by Kyle Lowke.

It didn’t take long for Eastern Randolph Post 81 to answer as it scored two runs of its own in the second. Eastern Randolph Post 81 scored on an RBI double by DJ Laxton and an RBI single by Nelson.

The lead stayed with Eastern Randolph Post 81 after the third, when it scored three runs on a sacrifice fly by Laxton and two singles.

Randolph County Post 45 out-hit Eastern Randolph Post 81 eight to seven, but Randolph County Post 45 stranded nine runners on base.

Bailey Steed went a perfect 2-2 at the dish for Eastern Randolph Post 81. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

DJ Laxton worked out of seven tricky spots for Eastern Randolph Post 81. He pitched 1 1/3 innings and allowed no earned runs on no hits. Laxton faced his trickiest spot in the sixth inning.
