Two Eastern Guilford Wildcats on the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame Ballot:Torry Holt(NCSU)/Bobby Hedrick(Elon)

Eastern Guilford’s Torry Holt(North Carolina State) and Bobby Hedrick(Elon) are both on the ballot for the 2016 College Football Hall of Fame…

Hedrick with 5,604 career rushing yards, #2 behind Anthony/Tony Dorsett at Pittsburgh and Hedrick’s Elon teams won two NAIA Football National Champsionships…

Torry Holt had 3,379 career receiving yards at N.C. State and he was the 1998 ACC Player of the Year…Holt is N.C. State’s all-time leading receiver….

Let’s wish both guys the best of luck as they hope to get in the College Football Hall of Fame…

I remember playing high school football against Bobby Hedrick when he was at Eastern Guilford and he was a good back in high school and he became a great back in college…The defense that I was with was able to contain Hedrick during his EG rb days and I will leave it at that…Good HS back and a great college back…

  1. good luck to both, they deserve it! Bobby Hedrick was the MAN back in the day. NOBODY worked harder than he did. he earned everyone of those 5,000 + yards at Elon. I remember him coming out on the practice field with us at EG and wearing his gold Elon helmet. when it came time to run sprints or do any other drill, he was all business. a perfect example of what a football player is all about.
