HiToms Win 3-2 To Make it Three in a Row

FINCH FIELD, NC, – In just two hours and ten minutes the HiToms (6-7) won 3-2 on a late comeback against the Lexington County Blowfish (5-8).

The first two innings resulted scoreless for both teams. However, the third was the busiest as two runs were plated in the top of the third to start the low scoring game. High Point – Thomasville responded in fashion with a two run homerun by Nick Lopez (Creighton) for his first of the season.

Innings four through seven had nothing to offer but strikeouts and pop flies. It was the bottom of the eighth where Kenon Menard (Southeastern Louisiana) plated the go ahead run on a Daniel Millwee (Arizona University) fielder’s choice to the third basemen.

Ryan Hedrick (4-0) (Presbyterian College) threw a scoreless four innings racking up five strikeouts to keep an 0.00 ERA on the season. Austin Gardner (University of Texas at Arlington) threw five innings allowing two runs and compiled three strikeouts as he picked up a no-decision.

The Hitoms, now on a three game win streak, are on the road tomorrow against the Forest City Owls and then back at home for FIREWORKS on Friday against the Asheboro Copperheads at 7:00 p.m.
