HUNTZINGER SETS PACE AT 3-UNDER-PAR AFTER THIRD ROUND AT FJ INVITATIONAL

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Charles Huntzinger (Duluth, Georgia) is 3-under-par after shooting 70 Thursday, and he will carry a two-stroke lead entering Friday’s final round at the FJ Invitational. Philip Barbaree (Shreveport, Louisiana) recorded the lowest round of the day, a 2-under-par 68, and is 1-under-par through 54 holes. Huntzinger and Barbaree are the only two players under par through 54 holes at Sedgefield Country Club’s Donald Ross Course.

Three players from North Carolina made the cut, which fell at 18-over-par. Stephen Franken (Raleigh) moved into a tie for fifth after shooting a third-round 71. He is 1-over-par for the tournament, just four strokes off Huntzinger’s pace.

“It’s meant a lot to play well this week,” Franken said. “Playing at Sedgefield is pretty homey to me. I’m a McConnell member [Raleigh Country Club], so it’s pretty special to play at a great course and great tournament. It’d be even more special to win it.”

Reilly Erhardt (Greensboro) shot 73 and improved seven spots on the leaderboard to move into a tie for 35th at 10-over-par, while Doc Redman (Raleigh) is 11-over-par and tied for 38th.

Redman tees off at 8:10 a.m. Friday, while Erhardt’s final-round tee time is 8:30 a.m. Franken is in the penultimate grouping and will tee off at 10:10 a.m.
