Jacob Hoyle(Western Carolina University), the 2015 Southern Conference Preseason Player of the Year and in attendance at a Kansas City Royals tryout this past Friday in Burlington, will be in the dugout and somewhere in the lineup for the Greensboro Reds, in their NABA game scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Guilford College(4:30pm)…..
Hoyle will hit the soil/ground running for the Reds on Sunday at Guilford….Hoyle looked to be a Royal, but instead he will be a Red for the Summer of 2015…Other opportunities will await Hoyle, but for the time being he will be seeing a hearty heaping helping of Greensboro NABA pitching…

2015 (Senior): Limited by a hand injury, playing in just 14 games with 11 starts … Nine of his starts came at first base, returning to the WCU lineup as the DH in the SoCon Tournament … Hit .370 (17-for-46) with two doubles and four home runs for a .674 slugging percentage …… Hit his only career grand slam as part of a career-high tying five-RBI game at Mercer (April 10) … Named to the 2015 Louisville Slugger Preseason All-America second team as chosen and released by Collegiate Baseball newspaper … Voted a team captain by his teammates prior to the season … Tabbed as the Southern Conference Preseason Player of the Year entering 2015 … Was additionally named to the first team preseason All-Southern Conference at first base … Was also tabbed preseason All-SoCon first team and a preseason third team All-America selection by CollegeSportsMadness.com.
