Northwest Guilford’s principal Ralph Kitley headed to the Rowan County Sports Hall of Fame in August

The 6-foot-10 Kitley averaged 13.5 points for Bob Hundley’s greatest hoops squad — the 1986 edition of the North Rowan Cavaliers that went 29-2 and put together a 17-game winning streak. Both losses were by a single point.

Kitley scored 19 in the Western regional final vs. Albemarle and had 17 in the 2A title game vs. Ayden-Grifton. Kitley played in 108 games for Wake Forest from 1987-90 and scored a career-best 22 against N.C. State.
