Kannapolis Post 115 coughs up lead, Eastern Randolph Post 81 wins 7-6

With the score tied at six in the ninth inning, Bailey Steed came to the plate and hit into a fielder’s choice.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 staved off Kannapolis Post 115 as Kannapolis Post 115 was unable to match Eastern Randolph Post 81 down the stretch.

Still, Kannapolis Post 115 couldn’t catch Eastern Randolph Post 81.

Hunter Curtis recorded the win for Eastern Randolph Post 81. He tossed four innings of shutout ball. Curtis struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 was sparked by Easton Jones and Carmine Pagano, who teamed up for five hits and three RBIs.

CJ White couldn’t get it done on the mound for Kannapolis Post 115, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed no runs.

The top of the first saw Kannapolis Post 115 take an early lead, 2-0. Caleb Threadgill started the rally for Kannapolis Post 115 with a single. A single by Jackson Raper then moved Threadgill from first to second. White doubled, scoring Threadgill and Raper.

Eastern Randolph Post 81 matched its two-run seventh inning with two more in the eighth. In the seventh, Eastern Randolph Post 81 scored on an RBI single by Curtis, scoring Jacob Sipe.
