Could Hendon Hooker become the best athlete to ever come out of Dudley HS???

Syracuse sure thinks so….

We all know this kid can flat-out play some football and some basketball and the Syracuse Orangemen are coming after this kid hard…

Check out the Hendon Hooker video that Syracuse came up with and you need to see it….It is very impressive…

CLICK HERE for the Hendon Hooker(Dudley High School) video…And you will be glad you did….Like we said before, the kid can flat-out play….

I don’t know what it is, but I really like that background music on the video too….

What a nice highlight. I wonder will schools let him play both sports.

  • curt switalski said,

Lets let the kid grow up a little. I coached against him and he is a great athlete but still has a long ways to go and this kind of stuff just fills their heads with visions of grandeur!

  • Andy Durham said,

I may be dead wrong, but Hendon Hooker, with the help of his mom and dad, seems to be one of the kids that can handle the hype.

  • fan said,

Hendon works hard in both sports. He’s a very humble player. I believe somebody from Syracuse made this video to get him to commit. He’s does have a long ways to go. Seems like you kind on angry because him don’t play with you.

  • CD said,

He isn’t even half the athlete like Trae Meadows & Darius Graves plus Chris Register Emmanuel Moseley

  • fan said,

Not comparing him to anybody else. He have to be his own person. And remember he still have two more years left. Only time will tell.

  • Andy Durham said,

Lots of great kids coming out of Dudley, no doubt about that..

But you really have to look at the whole picture with Hooker and what he does in both basketball and football…

He lots of time left and we all wish him well and look forward to seeing what all he will do…

  • Andy Durham said,

Like we are saying in the title too, “Could Become”….

Hendon Hooker is a work in progress, and that’s a good thing…

Oddly, Page has the biggest district among the Guilford County Schools, yet Smith High School sent more of its football players to colleges than Page.

I wish Dudley and Hooker another successful season. Page needs another James Summers.

  • great standard for younger players said,

It does not matter whether he is the best to come out of Dudley or not because Dudley has had a lot of great players in both football and basketball that played in college and the pros. Hooker will represent Dudley and this community well for decades to come. Great family, great young man and hopefully the entire community will support his development because his hard work should be a symbol and standard for the younger players to reach for.

  • just sayin said,

Just wondering when or if Guilford county schools will ever make Dudleys best players go to school in their actual district.

  • fan said,

That’s any school. All schools have kids that have special assignments to go there.

  • Alumni said,

Yes, he could be good, very good, but will never be the best to come out of Dudley. Right now he’s a little behind in as far as all-time greats statically. He may need to carry his team to some hard fault victories to see. Time will only tell, right now far from being the best ever. Charlie Sanders RIP.

  • just sayin said,

Ok and by special assignments does that mean play sports?

  • Said enuff, said,

Says, to just sayin, please say nothing, you complain every time when there’s something involving Dudley HS athletics. Let’s move on, by the way cheese with your whine sir?

  • just sayin said,

No cheese….thank you! Just wondering why so many of Dudleys star players live all over Guilford county and don’t actually live in the Dudley school district. Most every other school may have 1 or even 2….Dudley has almost 10 really good players who live in SW, Page, SE, HP Andrews, Grimsleys school districts. If they had to play with only kids from their district they would be quite average

  • Said enuff, said,

So Northern Guilford has none, we’ve heard this once, even twice. You will continue to cry about the situation if there’s even one. Have a seat its life, oyeah of course there’s these loaded prep school programs nobody talks about that be clear its about education right? GCS has a huge amount of magnet school programs across the county, geared towards the students preferences for education. Leave Dudley HS alone. Its your same old gripe every year, of course you’re a bitter SEG parent or so. I can tell by your anger. Go cry to the school board about the free education choice it offers in GCS. It all sounds personal to me.

  • streeter said,

He comes fro ma good family. I went to school with both Allan, and Wendy. They are good people. Both of his parents carried themselves well. He will do well. Steve is the coach that he needs. Herndon has a great cast around him. Lets keep the opportunist out of his ear.

  • welcome back Dudley said,

The fact that this kids name is generating this level of comments proves that he is “that guy” currently. Each year because of the player, the school or whatever factors, there are only a few local boys or girls that can create this level of talk, disagreement or whatever to get people to repeat. Dudley has not had “that guy” in a few years. Welcome back to the conversation Dudley. Now it is not just WES, GDS, Northern and Page in the conversation.

  • Parent said,

Dudley has always has had an athlete called “that guy,” the player now is no different until he wins some games by putting his team on his shoulders. This is really a slap in the face to the young men who went before him, just two years ago. f Guys who’ve actually done so, Moseley, Register, Graves, and so forth. Let him do the things they’ve been able to do, then he may be considered as that guy. Since there hasn’t been any in the last few years. Yeah right. Earn your keep.

  • just sayin said,

So…..what you’re saying is its ok to not follow the rules and actually go to school where you live? Lets not build a championship team from developing players in our community’s lets have assistant coaches hit up kids in the off season and get them to transfer to Dudley or Northern? Keep ignoring the rules and Dudley will keep getting eliminated from the playoffs before they actually start….just please don’t bitch and cry about your kids deserve to be there it was the adults who should be held accountable! Cause guess what my friend it will happen again cause your assistant coaches continue to ignore the rules.

  • who else is off the radar said,

Please stop with the kids out of district. All of these kids/parents/schools followed the rules. These policies are the same or similar in all counties. The Charlotte, Winston and Raleigh area’s have even more ability to transfer between schools than Guilford Co so stop complaining. Other than the kids like Hooker, or other that have gotten some attention such as Giles, I wonder who are some other kids that may be off the radar that desire or will gain some added attention over the next year that many may not know about.
