After Post 45 fought out of a six-run deficit to tie the game late, Post 8 delivered a go-ahead run in the top of the ninth to take Game 3 by an 8-7 score, and stave off elimination in the Area III second round series.(from Lexington Dispatch)…Michael Garvey, from Northwest Guilford, with a key run scored for Davidson County…

Post 87 High Point 21, Winston-Salem 10
from www.hpenews.com:

Setting a season-high for runs in one game, the Post 87 HiToms jumped to a big lead early on the way to a 21-10 win over Winston-Salem Post 55 and took a two games to one lead in an American Legion best-of-five playoff series Wednesday.

Game 4 is set for tonight at Finch Field.

Post 87 jumped to a 14-0 lead in the first three innings. The cushion shrank to 14-10 before the HiToms’ offense cranked up against, with a Kip Brandenburg grand slam one of the biggest blows.

In other American Legion playoff action, Davidson County stayed alive by edging Randolph County, 8-7; and Eastern Randolph Post 81 stopped Kernersville 11-5 to win that best-of-five series.

Game 4 of the Davidson County/Randolph County Series is slated for today at Holt-Moffitt Field in Lexington. Eastern Randolph awaits the Post 87/Winston-Salem winner.
