The Greensboro Lady Gaters Blue 2019 Finished Ranked 5th Nationally In The Gold Bracket / National Travel Basketball Association (NTBA) Tournament.

The Greensboro Lady Gaters Blue 2019 travel basketball team, led by Head Coach Frank Hunt and Assistant Coach Greg Light, have completed a stellar Spring Season! The Lady Gaters began competing together four years ago, and the team is comprised of players from Northern Middle School, Brown Summit Middle School, Northeast Guilford Middle School, Community Baptist School, Laurel Park Middle School and Rockingham County Middle School. They have a combined team GPA of 3.7.

Greensboro Lady Gators Blue 2019

The Lady Gaters finished the season ranked fifth nationally in the Gold Bracket after competing in the National Travel Basketball Association (NTBA) Tournament. The NTBA games were held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on June 25th-28th, with a total of 25 teams competing in the 8th grade division.

Additional highlights from this season are as follows: second place overall in the Basketball of the Carolinas D1/DII State Championship, second place overall in the USSSA State Championship, and first place in the USSSA March Madness Tournament. Other notable tournament finishes for the Lady Gaters this season are a second place finish in the Lady Gaters Spring Classic held in Greensboro, North Carolina, a third place ranking in the Gold Bracket in the Mayberry Madness held in Mt. Airy, North Carolina, a third place in the Phoenix Invitational held in Greensboro, North Carolina and a fifth place finish in the Great Smokie Shootout Tournament held Memorial Day weekend in Hickory, North Carolina.

The team had the distinct privilege of meeting the Chinese National Women’s Basketball team when they competed in the Winston Salem Stealers Showcase Tournament in April.
