*****We have the list right here and do you know of any names that we might need to add to this list of 1970’s NFL quarterbacks???*****

Ken Stabler was a great one and let’s back at some of those other quarterbacks from the 1970’s and a lot of these guys are in their 70’s now…

Ken Stabler(Oakland Raiders) was one of the Kings of the QB’s from back in the 70’s…..Here are more and I do believe I have almost all of them from the 70’s listed….Remember the CBS studio team of Brent Musberger, Irv Cross, Phyllis George and Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder??? They were the best too…

    No Archie Manning?

  • Andy Durham said,

That’s a good one, we need to add in Archie…Must have gotten blinded by Peyton and Eli…

Let’s see more on these QB’s…

  • Andy Durham said,

I remember now why I couldn’t see Archie back then when he was with the New Orleans Saints, he had a bag over his head…

HOW ABOUT GREENSBORO SMITHS VINCE EVANS. PLAYED COLLEGE AT USC

  • Andy Durham said,

Have added the new quarterbacks to the list and we it updated…

Just put in Vince Evans(Smith HS) today and also put a new one that I thought of, Neil Lomax(St. Louis Cardinals) on the list…

Not many black/African-American quarterbacks back in those days, with Doug Williams(Tampa Bay), Joe Gilliam(Pittsburgh), James Harris(Rams) and Vince Evans(Chicago) on the list and I do think Vince Evans spent later time with the Oakland/LA Raiders….

  • HS FB FAN said,

TERRY HANRATTY PITTSBURG. HE STARTED AHEAD OF BRADSHAW FOR A WHILE. PLAYED COLLEGE AT NOTRE DAME

  • Andy Durham said,

Did another update and let’s keep these QB’s coming in here…

Heard this being discussed as a topic on a sports talk show today and it is an interesting subject, when you look back at the 1970’s QB’s and the 70’s NFL in general….

  • HS FB FAN said,

    Andy,

HOW COULD WE HAVE MISSED GEROGE BLANDA AND DARRELL LAMONICA. THEY BOTH PLAYED FOR THE RAIDERS. I THINK THEY PLAYED IN FIRST SUPER BOWL. BLANDA ALSO KICKED EXTRA POINTS AND FIELD GOALS, AND PLAYED TILL HE WAS 48

  • HS FB FAN said,

    DANNY WHITE DALLAS COWBOYS

  • Andy Durham said,

I had always thought of George as more of a kicker, but you are right, he was a good quarterback too…

Danny White was also a punter for the Cowboys…

Good calls and are still open to add more QB’s….
