*****We have been highlighting our local players that will be playing in the games and we have no girls from our Guilford County area on the West team….Hate that to be the case, but that is the way it is this year….We have listed Brandon Ingram, from Kinston, headed to Duke, since he is the #1 player from our state and you need to get out and see him in his last college game…We have also listed Jalen Burnett, from the Metro 4-A Conference in the men’s West team and we do have Quayson Williams, from Eastern Guilford on the West, and have enjoyed watching and sharing his game with you over the past several years as he starred for the EG Wildcats…..Check them(men) out below….No girls/women from Guilford on the West this year….*****

Quayson…Eastern Guilford High…6-0, 170…guard…coached by Joseph Spinks…as senior, named NCPreps 3A All-State, All-District, All-Conference, All-Region, Burlington Times News Player of the Year, team MVP…as junior, named All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, Greensboro Sports Player of the year, team MVP…as sophomore, named All-Conference, team MVP…signed an athletic grant-in-aid with The Citadel where he will major in accounting…wants to pursue a career playing professional basketball…his father is his role model…says “Playing in this game is something I never expected. I am truly blessed to be able to participate. I’m expecting to raise my game to another level by playing with different competition.”

Jalen Burnett
Jalen…Southern Alamance High…6-1, 185…guard…coached by Marty Parrish…as senior, named All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, Burlington Times News All-Region, averaged 18.7 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.2 steals…as junior, named All-Conference, Burlington Times News All-Region…averaged 17 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals…as sophomore, named All-Conference, Burlington Times News All-Region, Sheetz All-Tournament…averaged 15 points, 2 assists, 2 rebounds, 2 steals…school’s all-time leading scorer with 1,470 career points…member of Project Unify…plans to attend Davidson C C where he will major in sports management…wants to pursue a career that allows him to be involved with kids and sports in some capacity…his parents are his role models…his favorite college athlete is Justin Anderson…favorite pro athlete is Kyrie Irving…says “This is a tremendous honor; even to have been nominated is a blessing in itself. I look forward to competing against some of the best in this state, and I will truly treasure this experience for the rest of my life.”

Brandon Ingram

Brandon…Kinston High…6-9, 195…guard/forward…coached by Perry Tyndall…as senior, named AP All-State, AP Player of the Year, NCBCA All-State, NCBCA Player of the Year, NCPreps All-State, All-District, All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, state championship MVP…North Carolina’s Mr. Basketball…McDonald’s All American selection…represented team USA at the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland…named Spaulding Hoopball Classic MVP…averaged 24.3 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 3.0 blocks, 1.6 steals…as junior, named All-State, All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, state championship MVP…4-time NCHSAA basketball state champion, which is a record…signed an athletic grant-in-aid with Duke University…his brother and father are his role models…favorite pro athletes area Kevin Durant, George Gervin, and Michael Jordan…says “It means a lot for me to play in this event, and it’s an honor to play with all the top guys in the state. From this experience I am expecting to gain relationships and get better.”

  3. Boys play at 8:30pm and the girls at 6:30 at the Greensboro Coliseum this coming Monday night July 20…..
