HiToms Fall Hard – Wilmington 10-2

FINCH FIELD, NC, July 22 – On a warm night in Thomasville, North Carolina the HiToms (22-23) fell hard to the hot bats of the Wilmington Sharks (23-21), 10-2.

An early start screamed blowout after a 7-0 lead was established through only two and a half innings. The Tommies could not get a hit off the Sharks pitching staff until the bottom of the third when Kody Ruedisili (Wofford) ended the no hitter.

The first glimpse of life came when Alex Paradowski (Wofford) had an RBI single that plated Pete Guy (UNC Asheville) to end the shutout. Run number two came in the bottom of the ninth when a relief pitcher threw nine straight balls mixed in with an HBP to eventually plated Cody Lovejoy (Texas State).

The HiToms take a rest day tomorrow but are back at home Friday night against the Martinsville Mustangs as the finish off the season with eleven straight games.
