HiToms blow past Lexington Co. Derouen collects First Win

High Point / Thomasville, NC – Adam Derouen sparkled in his first start of the season for the HPT HiToms (23-28) as High Point-Thomasville snapped a six-game skid with a 13-1 victory over the Lexington County Blowfish (26-24).

Derouen silenced the hot Blowfish bats for six innings as the junior, right-hander from Louisiana Tech allowed just four hits, one run while striking out six. .

The HiToms put the game away in the bottom of the fourth when Peter Johnson blasted a two-run home run to left-field to cement the Tommies fourth run, fourth. Johnson paced the HiToms all night collecting three hits and four RBI. Nicky Lopez and Drew Ellis joined the HPT hit parade as well collecting two hits apiece, and accounting for five of the Tommies 13 runs.

HPT returns to action Thursday night as the HiToms travel to Gastonia to challenge the Grizzlies. .
