Kernersville Bulldogs win game one of CVCL Tournament in Salem, Virginia with former NWG Vikings Duncan Everett, Keaton Haack and Marcus Shoemaker playing key roles

The Kernersville Bulldogs beat Montreat Mountaineers on Thursday 9-3 at Kiwanis Field in Salem Va in the first round of the Carolina Virginia Collegiate League Tourney….

The Kernersville Bulldogs scored three runs in the sixth inning to open up a close game on a two-run home run by Keaton Haack and a sacrifice fly by Austin Stilley.

Marcus Shoemaker racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Kernersville Bulldogs. He singled in the second, third, and fifth innings.

Duncan Everett’s 10 strikeouts helped the Kernersville Bulldogs to the victory. Everett allowed three earned runs on seven hits and no walks over seven innings.

The Kernersville Bulldogs matched their two-run second inning with two more in the fifth. In the second, the Kernersville Bulldogs scored on an RBI double by Jason Smith scoring Shoemaker. Austin Stilley picked up three hits and two Rbi’s also for Kernersville.

The Bulldogs play the Mooresville Spinners Friday Morning at 11 Am at Lewis Gale Stadium in Salem Va.
