The newspaper and on-line service with the official word coming out of Lafayette, Indiana at the 2015 COLT Baseball World Series, where the Greensboro Colts were victorious again today/Monday….

Greensboro, North Carolina’s quest for a Colt World Series championship continued Monday night with an 8-3 victory over Czech Republic.

Greenboro will play four-time defending champion Los Gatos, California in the 5 p.m. semifinal Tuesday at Loeb Stadium after getting three-hit nights from Jacob Edwards and Kevin Westlake in a game that was temporarily halted by a rain delay.

Following the rain delay in the middle of the fourth, Czech scored two runs to tie the score. Jan Preininger drove in a pair for Czech Republic and Lukas Trunkat was 3 for 3, scoring twice.

After the game was tied, Greensboro responded with a bases loaded walk issued to Nick Goard to take the lead. Desmond Hargrove followed, getting hit by a pitch and Greensboro added four insurance runs in the top of the seventh.

Travis Hunt scattered six hits in five innings, striking out six and walking none to earn the win.
