GREENSBORO, N.C. – The 2009 Wyndham Championship winner, Ryan Moore, and Major winners Stewart Cink and Justin Leonard will play the Piedmont Triad’s PGA TOUR event, the tournament announced today. The 76th annual Wyndham Championship starts Monday at Sedgefield Country Club.

These players join World Golf Hall of Famer Ernie Els, reigning FedExCup champion Billy Horschel, 2007 champion Brandt Snedeker, 2011 champion Webb Simpson, 2011 FedExCup champion Bill Haas, Hideki Matsuyama, Major winners Charl Schwartzel, Jason Dufner, Retief Goosen and Vijay Singh, Paul Casey, former world No. 1 Luke Donald, Harris English, reigning champion Camilo Villegas, two-time champion Davis Love III, 2008 winner Carl Pettersson, Brooks Koepka, 2005 champion K.J. Choi and 2010 winner Arjun Atwal in the field. “Young Guns” Justin Thomas, Ollie Schniederjans, Daniel Berger, Chesson Hadley, Patrick Rodgers and Cameron Smith are also in the field.

Moore won the Wyndham in 2009 following a thrilling three-way playoff with Jason Bohn and Kevin Stadler; it was his first PGA TOUR victory after a phenomenal amateur career. Now a four-time PGA TOUR winner, he won the CIMB Classic earlier this season to become the first player in tournament history to defend his CIMB Classic title and the first to successfully defend a title on TOUR since Tiger Woods did so at the Arnold Palmer Invitational (2012 and ‘13). The Tacoma, Wash., native also finished fifth at the Valspar Championship and tied for ninth at the World Golf Championship-Cadillac Championship earlier this season. Moore will make his eighth Wyndham Championship appearance next week; he is 25th in the current FedExCup point standings and 41st in the Official

World Golf Rankings.
Cink won the Open Championship in 2009 after outdueling World Golf Hall of Famer Tom Watson with two birdies in a four-hole aggregate playoff to claim his first Major championship. The Georgia Tech University alumnus is a six-time PGA TOUR winner with three Web.com Tour wins and Mexican Open wins in 1996 and ’99 also to his credit. He posted a final-round, 6-under 66 and finished tied for fifth at the recent RBC Canadian Open for his best showing of the season. A former top-five player in the world, he will make his sixth Wyndham Championship appearance and his first since 2013. He is a five-time Ryder Cup competitor and has represented the United States in the Presidents Cup four times.

Leonard is a Major champion but is probably best known for sinking a 45-foot putt on 17th hole at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass., during his Sunday singles match with Jose Maria Olazabal to earn the decisive half-point that won the Ryder Cup for United States in 1999. He won four consecutive holes (12-15) to square match and set up his 17th -hole heroics. He is a three-time Ryder Cup competitor and has represented the United States in the Presidents Cup five times. Among his 12 PGA TOUR victories is his 1997 win at the Open Championship. He will make his seventh Wyndham Championship appearance next week; he finished tied for third in 2010 – his best finish here.
