Pride Volleyball Eighth In USA South Poll

GREENSBORO, NC – The Greensboro College Volleyball team was picked to finish fifth in the Northern Division and eighth overall the USA South Athletic Conference announced on Thursday afternoon.

“Our program will continue to grow one step at a time and it is nice to see that reflected in the opinion of our conference coaches,” Head Coach Kaci Pike stated. “We are excited to be higher than last season in the preseason poll and look forward to a competitive season.”

The Pride finished their 2014 season with an overall record of 16-16 while going 8-11 in USA South play to advance to the conference tournament.

Greensboro lost some big pieces from last year’s squad but they have a strong core of returners led by seniors Bari Tressler, Marquenette Fuller, and Megan Baranko. The Pride will also welcome fifteen newcomers to the team along with six returners from one year ago.

The 2015 volleyball season is set to get underway on September 5th at the Cougar Classic hosted by Averett University. The Pride will take on the Hornets of Shenandoah University at 12:00 PM before capping off their first day against the Maroons of Roanoke College at 4:00 PM.
