Justin Geisler Joins HPU MLAX Staff As Director Of Operations

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Former standout Austin Geisler has been named Director of Operations for the High Point University men’s lacrosse team, head coach Jon Torpey announced on Wednesday.

Geisler returns to HPU after serving as the team’s starting goalkeeper from 2013-15.

“Austin is an incredible young man who played a vital role in our team’s success these past three seasons as both a player and a mentor to our student-athletes,” Torpey continued. “His competitive drive to be the best goalie in the country or the role he took in mentoring our goalies. To have him continue to be involved with our program as the Director of Operations is a true blessing.”

The Fredericksburg, Va. native is excited to move into his post-graduate career in lacrosse.

“I am honored and humbled to join the staff at HPU,” Geisler said. “The opportunity to work alongside coach Torpey and the rest of the staff will allow me to grow as a coach and as a person. They provide a great example that I will do my best to emulate. After a three great years as a player, I am very excited to be in a position to help this program take the next step.”

Geisler finished 13th, second and fifth in saves per game in his three seasons as the Panthers’ goalie. He earned 18 wins as a starter and holds all of the program’s single-season and career goalkeeping records. Geisler, along with Pat Farrell, became the first two HPU alumni to play in a Major League Lacrosse game when he appeared in a game for the Ohio Machine in June.
