2015 Wyndham Championship Thursday Notes
Uber Shuttle off to Strong Start: Wyndham Championship fans took to the tournament’s new Uber car service in a big way on day one with consistent use through both the early morning and late-afternoon waves. The Uber/Wyndham Championship partnership runs through Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club. Attendees can use the Uber app to request a ride to drop them off right at the tournament entrance. The Uber drop-off and pick-up location has moved slightly but remains in close proximity to the tournament’s main entrance. The drop-off and pick-up location is now at the intersection of Rockingham and Anson roads. Uber signage makes it clear fans are in the correct location and there is more information in the Uber app. First time Uber riders can download the app from the App Store and use the promo code WCGOLF15 for a free first ride, up to $20 in value. Users can also sign up at https://get.uber.com/go/WCGOLF15. A portion of proceeds from rides to and from the Wyndham Championship will benefit the tournament’s official charity. Users can request their ride by selecting the “GOLF” option in the Uber app. For each GOLF ride taken, $1 will be donated to Birdies For Backpacks, which funds 501(c)(3) charitable organizations to fill backpacks with nutritionally sound meals for low income, Piedmont Triad-area children to take home on weekends.

First-Round Withdrawals: Two golfers withdrew from the Wyndham Championship during Thursday’s first round. Dudley Hart withdrew due to a back injury, and John Peterson withdrew after injuring his hip.
Tropical Wear Contest: The fourth-annual Wyndham Championship tropical wear contest is set for Saturday at 2 p.m. inside Margaritaville at the Wyndham. The top-three finishers will win vacations courtesy of Wyndham Worldwide. First place will receive a six-day, five-night stay at the Wyndham Rio Mar, Puerto Rico. Second place will receive a four-day, three-night stay at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside, and third place will receive a four-day, three-night stay at the Wyndham Beacon Hill in Boston. Winners must be at least 18 years of age. Clothing that is not widely considered family friendly, at the discretion of the judges, will not be eligible for the contest.
