GREENSBORO, N.C. – With arguably the best field in tournament history, including 14-time Major championship winner Tiger Woods and world No. 12 Adam Scott, 30,000 fans attended today’s second round, and with tremendous crowds expected Saturday and Sunday, the Wyndham Championship will open additional parking at Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) for the weekend, the tournament announced today.

Tournament officials ordered some 49,000 extra tickets for the week and expected approximately 30,000 people to be the maximum number of fans that could comfortably watch the tournament at Sedgefield Country Club so that number was allotted for today.

“I’ve always wanted to see how Sedgefield would look with a huge crowd like this, and it’s been incredible to see so many people at the Wyndham Championship,” tournament director Mark Brazil said. “We felt we could get about 30,000 people on the course comfortably so we had that number in mind for one day. After seeing this massive crowd at the Wyndham today, I think we might be able to go a little higher, but we never want to sell so many tickets that our fans don’t have a good experience; we’ll see how that plays out for the weekend.”

Massive Thursday and Friday crowds made parking space tight at the tournament’s two premier parking locations. The GTCC parking area will join American Furniture Warehouse on Gate City Blvd. (formerly High Point Road) and Furnitureland South in Jamestown as Premier Parking Lots. Parking is $10 per car at each of these three locations.

Standard public parking will remain at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex where the charge is $8 per car. Transportation from all parking lots to Sedgefield Country Club is complimentary. VIP parking is unchanged.
