ROCHESTER, NY – The Greensboro College men’s golf team completed play at the Flower City Preview on Sunday afternoon. The tournament that was originally scheduled for 54 holes was cut down to 36 due to the wet conditions in the Rochester area. The Pride entered the final nine holes in a fourth place tie, but ended the event in a tie for sixth.

Senior John Grimes led the way for Greensboro with a two round total of 150 (+6). In his 36 holes of play, Grimes recorded five birdies and twenty-four total pars.

Levi Grogan, who earned medalist honors in the Pride’s last event, was only one stroke behind his teammate. Levi fired a three over par 75 on the first round before finishing his second round at plus four.

Both Grimes (t-7) and Levi (t-10) finished in the top ten individually in a field that was made up of some of the top team in all of NCAA Division III golf.

Jared Dillard (159, t-52), Luke Grogan (160, t-56), and Cory Stamper (167, t-81) also contributed to the overall team score.

“Overall it was a good trip as we got to preview the National Championship courses,” Head Coach Dirk Fennie stated. “Levi and John played really well despite to poor weather and it was overall a real good experience to play with some of the best teams in the nation. Our efforts at this tournament proves that we can compete at the highest level.”

The Pride men will now have a two week break before returning to action on October 4th.
