GREENSBORO, N.C. – Robbie Barnes tallied two second-half goals for Greensboro College as Guilford College fell to Greensboro, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon at Bryan Park’s Macpherson Stadium.

The Pride controlled the offensive pace early in the first half, but Mark Dandanell suddenly capitalized on the Quakers’ first offensive opportunity in the 18th minute, beating Greensboro goalie Jaime Payamps to claim an early lead, 1-0. The Quakers held on throughout the rest of the half to maintain the lead into halftime.

Greensboro broke through in the 55th minute when Gage fired a cross to Barnes to even the match, 1-1. Gage connected with Barnes once more on a cross, this time to the top of the 18-yard box where Barnes booted the ball into the top right corner of the goal to take the lead, 2-1. The Pride picked up an insurance goal in the 78th minute off a Scott Faytol feed to Shaun Watt.

The Pride out-shot the Quakers, 21-4, and held the advantage on corner kicks, 8-1.
