HIGH POINT, N.C. – Senior Annemarie Chin has been named Big South Defensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference office announced on Monday.
The Tallahassee, Fla. native is leading the Big South and is fifth nationally with 5.81 digs per set this season. Chin averaged 5.75 digs per set in the Purple & White’s four matches this week – all 3-set victories. Behind Chin’s stellar play, the Panthers’ defense held its four opponents to a combined hitting percentage of .108.
This is the libero’s second player of the week award this season and fifth in her career. Chin also garnered all-tournament accolades in three of the Panthers’ four non-conference tournaments in 2015.
Chin and HPU will wrap up non-conference play on Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. in Cullowhee, N.C. against Western Carolina.
