College Volleyball Final – William Peace 3, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Tempestt Frazier put away 10 kills on .600 hitting and had five blocks in William Peace University’s 25-17, 25-20, 25-19 volleyball win at Guilford College Tuesday night.

The Pacers (12-7) hit .347 as a team, including a blistering .500 in the final set. Connor Davis and Laura Bland both contributed seven kills to William Peace’s attack, which had 45 kills and 11 errors in 98 total attacks. Libero Carson Williams picked up a club-high 14 digs and Maddie Irvin added 13 pickups on the back row. Liana Solomon finished with 20 assists to accompany her five kills. Kennedey Paine chipped in 14 assists, five digs and a service ace.

Guilford’s Casey Davis (Thomasville, N.C./Trinity) led all students with 14 kills and added six digs. Kelsey Ruehling had 11 kills and six digs for the Quakers, who played without injured middle blocker Becca Benfield and hit .143 as a team. Maile Munro led the way with 33 assists and Steffi Dutton picked up 12 digs.

Coach Emily Gann’s Quakers (4-11) hosts Eastern Mennonite University Saturday (10/10) at 4:00 p.m. in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference contest.
