Just saw veteran high school football referee Sarge/Mr. Joe Jones and he told me he worked the Asheboro at Ledford game tonight, with Asheboro coming away with a win 13-3 over the Leford Panthers…Asheboro now sits at (6-1) on the season they will present a challenge to the Southern Guilford Storm, who rolled over Central Davidson tonight….Sarge has been doing this football game thing for a long time and he is still one of the best around and it is always good to see him…*****Southern Guilford(6-2) at Asheboro(6-1) next Friday night.*****

The Page Pirates are a sight to behold and they hold a tight grip on what comes and goes through Marion Kirby Stadium…Page has four receivers that are as good any corp you will find anywhere in the state…And last time I checked, N.C. State was losing to Virginia Tech, 28-13…There is lot on the plate tonight with HS Football, ACC College Football and more…

Page has those four WR’s in Diondre Overton, James Ellis II, Miles Fasion and Ronald Polite and their QB is on target nearly every time he sends the football in the direction of Overton, Ellis II, Fasion and Polite…Joe Sirera, with the News and Record, had Jones at 13-16 for 248 yards and 3 TD’s tonight/Friday and that should take Jones to 1,573 yards passing for the season with 18 TD’s….Jones was 7-9 in the first half for 158 yards and 2 TD’s and he also ran for a TD tonight…Overton and Polite both got in the TD receiving action this evening….The Page defense is very tough too….They gave up one TD to Southeast Guilford right at the end of the first quarter(8 seconds left) and after that did not allow another SEG point on the night…Alan Tisdale, Elijah Diaraassouba, Jeremy Level, Tyler DeBerry, Tavaris Martin, Micah Gafford, Jamie Myers and others stepped big all night long on that defense for Page and on that O’Line you names like Will Hardin, Nick Mackovic and Carter Jessup stepping up….No doubt about what Javon Leake can from his runningback spot…..This is a very good Page team, but we knew that already, after the way that they performed at East Forsyth, in that 31-30 loss to the Eagles…..Grimsley at Page next Friday night…(Make plans to get there early.)
*****Other Page-SEG numbers courtesy of Joe Sirera with the News and Record:Diondre Overton with 116 receiving yards and 2 TD’s for the Page Pirates, plus Javon Leake with 13 carries for 116 yards for Page and CJ McThay had 23 carries for 123 yards for Southeast Guilford..Leake lost one TD when he fumbled the ball right before hit the SEG end xone early in the first quarter….

Heard from some Grimsley fans and they told me that got some calls at their place tonight that did not meet the approval of the home faithful….Whirlies not happy with the men in black and white tonight and sometimes called zebras, but they were the officials assigned to call the Grimsley-Southern Alamance game tonight at Jamieson Stadium….

Western Guilford finally got the WIN that they were looking for and it came on the road at North Forsyth…Let’s hear for those Hornets, following their 7-6 win over the Vikings tonight….Heard from Heath Lineberry and he said the Hornets had to hang on to get the victory….But a good one it was and first of the year for the Hornets and their JV team defeated North Forsyth 36-12 on Thursday night for the JV Black and Gold’s first win in 2015…..

Have not yet seen a final on Eastern Alamance-Western Alamance yet….Heard that Eastern Guilford fell to Burlington Williams 6-3 and that is a tough way to go down…Dudley and Smith ended up with Dudley on top 43-0…Page and Dudley down the road is looking like a real big time game coming up later on this month…

Got to get some more numbers and this finish is moving on and rolling on….Will be back in a few minutes with more from tonight’s games…Need to go get that N.C. State-VA Tech final and find the ending to the WA-EA contest…..

Last we saw, N.C. State did lose that game to the Hokies by that 28-13 score….Eastern Alamance came back to beat Western Alamance 48-37 and Eastern Alamance is (8-0) on the season…Was reading that Connell Young and Ezra Perkins were big for Dudley in the Panthers win over Smith on Friday night…Did not see many notes on what kind of night that Hendon Hooker had for the Panthers…

From the Northwest Guilford-Ragsdale game you had NWG’s Caleb Homol throwing for 269 yards and 3 TD’s, plus Thomas Hennigan caught 6 passes for the Vikings and scored three touchdowns…Jarious Drayton with 148 yards rushing for Ragsdale…
