College Men’s Soccer Final – Randolph-Macon 4, Guilford 0

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Randolph-Macon College’s Seth Manis totaled one goal and as Guilford College dropped the Saturday evening Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest, 4-0, at a wet and windy Appenzeller Field at Armfield Athletic Center.

Manis scored his first points on a on touch feed to Logan McHugh in the ninth minute to put Randolph-Macon on the board. Manis would put the ball in the net on his own accord in the the 32nd minute for Randolph-Macon’s third goal.

The Yellow Jackets took advantage of two set-piece opportunities during the first half, including a Tyler Slayton goal off of a free kick in the 27th minute Diego Tacaraya into the box for Manis who quickly fed Slayton for the tally. Anthony Polakiewicz converted on a Randolph-Macon corner kick when McHugh booted the ball to the far end of the six-yard box for Polakiewicz to boot the ball in the net.

Randolph-Macon narrowly out-shot the Quakers, 14-11, the Quakers held the edge on corner kicks, 9-2.

Eric Hayes made six saves in net for the Quakers. Brian Breslin made one stop for Randolph-Macon before being relieved by C.J. Chambers late in the second half.

The Quakers (5-6, 2-3 ODAC) look to rebound Tuesday, hosting Roanoke College for a 7 p.m. contest.
