College Men’s Soccer Final – Shenandoah 3, Guilford 2

WINCHESTER, Va. – Shenandoah University’s Tylor Strozeski’s second-half goal proved to be enough to hold a Guilford College late rally in Friday evening’s Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) contest, claiming the win, 3-2.

Omar Solis was the lone player on both sides with a multi-point night, assisting on Leke Ademoyero’ 34th-minute goal, which tied the contest, 1-1. With five second left in the contest, Solis booted a ball in the net to close the gap before time expired.

Shenandoah used three different goal scorers starting with Nick Strait, who converted a feed from Nick Seymour in the ninth minute to claim an early lead. Matt Sweeney picked up the assist on Nate Long’s goal in the 40th minute. Strozeksi scored Shenandoah’s insurance goal off a Gerard Talbot-Paul pass 64th minute.

The Quakers outshot the Hornets, 11-9, and held the edge on corner kicks, 5-3.

Eric Hayes (Greensboro, N.C./Ragsdale) made four saves in net for the Quakers. Shenandoah’s Keegan Fairchild stopped seven shots.

The Quakers (5-8, 2-5 ODAC) look to rebound Wednesday, hosting Randolph College for a 7 p.m. ODAC contest.
