Elon Women’s Soccer Suffers 3-0 Setback at Delaware

ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women’s soccer team gave up two early goals in the first half and couldn’t recover in a 3-0 loss at Delaware on Friday, Oct. 16, Stuart and Suzanne Grant Stadium.

The loss places the Phoenix at 9-4-2 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play this season. Delaware improves to 7-6-2 overall and 2-2-2 in the CAA.

Highlights
Natalie Zelenky scored her first of two goals in the match in the 15th minute to open the scoring and give the Blue Hens a 1-0 lead. Riley Curtin scored just under a minute later to give Delaware a 2-0 lead heading into the half.

Zelenky tabbed her second goal of the match in the 60th minute off a ball from Nikki Adams to secure the 3-0 win for the Blue Hens.

The Phoenix were able to create some chances, but were outshot 15-10 in the match. Taylor Mohr recorded seven saves for Elon.
