  1. Broken neck suffered by Durham Jordan high school football player Brandon Massey on Friday night in a game vs. Cardinal Gibbons…

His father, Robert Massey, the head football coach at Shaw University, said Brandon is surrounded by family and that they are all praying for him. Robert plans to coach in Saturday’s home game against Livingstone.

  2. My family prays that Brandon Massey recuperates fully, and we also hope his family remains faithful.

*Javon Leake is one of the best players in Guilford County. He averages close to 10 yards per carry and catches well. He always remains the X factor in games. His leadership and presence always provides hope to the players. Javon is also a phenomenal young man.

  3. I agree with Alston’s observation about Javon Leake. I’ve watched this young man play for several years and am beginning to notice his transformation into a serious play-maker. Guilford County has many good players, but after watching his big runs Friday night, he certainly belongs with Freeman and E.Forsyth’s Beal. Young from Dudley is impressive, but more-so as an all purpose type back, valuable at the college level. Awesome talent in this area.

  4. The top 3 backs in the area are.

    Beal EF
    Leake Page
    Freeman NG

There are some big time players in this area right now!

  5. Connell Young from Dudley has 1300 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving. I don’t think none of the backs mention have more.

  6. Let me be clear… Young from Dudley certainly belongs among the top RBs in this area. He has strong legs, great hands and can take over a game with some daylight. I am a Page fan and am anxious to see the Page/Dudley match-up, but I for one would never look past Smith. The coaches at Page certainly will not do that, but you never know how the Page players will respond after that hype-filled game with Grimsley.

  7. Can’t believe I forgot Mr Young from Dudley High! He is a complete beast on the Football field and he may be the most important back aside from CJ Freeman to his team out of all the backs. Beal and Leake have a lot of different weapons around them. Especially Beal at East they have 2 different RBs that can go when he’s not on the field.

    According to Maxpreps
    C.Beal has 876 Yards 12 TDs on 107 carries
CJ Freeman has 799 yards and 9 TDs on 136 Carries
C.Young has 1317 yards and 11 TDs on 116 Carries
    Leake-No Stats listed on Maxpreps
