Men’s Golf Completes Play At O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College men’s golf team finished fifth Tuesday at the O’Briant-Jensen Memorial Golf Tournament at the par-72 Sedgefield Dye Course.

Levi Grogan was the Pride’s top finisher in 11th place at 11 over par. John Grimes was one stroke behind in 12th.

Luke Grogan, Jordan Smith, and Jared Dillard also contributed to the team score. Corey Stamper competed as an individual.

“I am not overly concerned about the scores at this event,” Head Coach Dirk Fennie said. “This was the toughest course we have seen all year, and I am really happy with a fifth-place finish. I am looking forward to returning to the course in the spring.”

This event marks the end of the Pride’s 2015 fall season. Greensboro will return to action on March 6, 2016, at Callaway Gardens. For the latest on the Pride men’s golf team, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.

Volleyball Defeats Montreat 3-0 On Tuesday

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro College volleyball team collected a 3-0 win Tuesday against Montreat College.

The Pride (7-19) won by scores of 25-13, 25-15, and 25-12.

Megan Baranko and Marqenette Fuller each had a team-high eight kills. Tori Belcher led the way in digs with 14, while Haley Bohrer led in assists with 14.

“We set the tone well from the beginning and dominated till the finish,” Assistant Coach Meredith Smith said. “Every player that stepped on the court tonight contributed to the match with a lot of focus and effort.”

McMaster Named to D3Football.com National Team of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Greensboro College’s Micah McMaster was named today to the D3Football.com National Team of the Week after returning two interceptions for touchdowns in Saturday’s game against Averett University.

McMaster, a senior defensive back from High Point, North Carolina, returned his first interception in the second quarter to put the Pride up 21-6. The other came with 2:31 left in the game, as McMaster went 58 yards to put Greensboro up 48-40 in a game it went on to win 48-46.
