Friday Night Finish:Seeing some wild games and scores Southwest Guilford, HP Central, Southern Guilford and others stepping big as we find the Panthers on top at “The Tarp”

*****Charlotte Catholic over Ardrey Kell tonight, 42-9…Hough 36, North Mecklenburg 6…Richmond County 49, Pinecrest 28*****
Look at some of these wild and crazy scores…..Southwest Guilford 21, Northwest Guilford 20 and we will have a full report on that game coming up from Wyatt Smith later on tonight/this morning….
Just look at this one:High Point Central 27, Glenn 23….HP Central is on a roll and they finish up with who? None other than Southwest Guilford, the team that just knocked off Northwest Guilford and Vikings also fell at the hands of Central and now Northwest must face East Forsyth next Friday night…Northwest will have to find a way to get up after that loss this evening…Might need to get back to work tomorrow/Saturday and they will have to find the right frame of mind in a hurry…

Next Friday, East Forsyth at Northwest Guilford, High Point Central at Southwest Guilford and Glenn at Ragsdale….SW Guilford could still win the High Point City Championship….The Cowboys knocked off (9-1) High Point Andrews in the first game of the season, 28-21 Cowboys and HP Central could claim the #@ spot in the Piedmont Triad 4-A Conference with a win next Friday night….

Is it too to name Connell Young the Guilford County High School Football Player of the Year…He has put up a very strong campaign for that top spot all season long and he did nothing to hurt his chances tonight, in leading his Dudley Panthers to their 35-7 victory over the Page Pirates….Young is both a very strong runner and also a very reliable receiver out of the Panthers’ backfield….Good to former Panther and now UNC-Pembroke Khalil Vance at the game tonight at Tarpley Stadium…Khalil was as stud up on the Panthers defensive line during their 4-A Championship season back in 2013….

Dudley at Southeast Guilford next Friday night and the Panthers have shot at going (5-0) in the Metro 4-A for this season of 2015….Southeast has a very tough running game, led by senior C.J. McThay and he should provide a good test for the Dudley Defense….

It is almost like they are developing their own brand over the years, the “Dudley Defense” is becoming a very popular brand and is almost a household name in some key neighborhoods in our town and is a daily topic on the East Side….

What about Young(Dudley HS) for the POY in Guilford County???

What about that Southern Guilford Storm???

All SG does is lose their top player, Reggie Gallaspy to graduation and on to the N.C. State Wolfpack and what does SG do, they come right back the following season and go (9-2) in the regular season and they win the Mid-Piedmont 3-A Conference Championship going (6-0) in the conference….

We got much to talk about and we will just as soon as I change locations…Time to head toward home….

Really stepping it up for that Dudley Defense tonight were Zachary Pressley, Nigel Peele, Brion Seagraves, Franklin McCain, Simeon Gatling and Myles White….Gatling also had some good blocks in the offensive backfield for his teammate Connell Young and Young said in his post game interview that Gatling was a great resource to have on the offensive side of the ball after the Panthers lost RB Ezra Perkins…Seagraves had a big late from his DB spot and he laid on a hit on the kickoff coverage team with a tackle by the junior sticker that just see every week….

  1. Connell Young is having a MVP year ,no doubt about it. What I really like about the Senior is his plays in the clutch. When Dudley needs a big play , he makes it with power running , slick moves , 3rd down catches. Hope “the Bowlimg Ball” Ezra Perkins gets better. We’re gonna miss as our change of pace running back. Good luck to Page going forward . Get some payback against EF.

  2. How are they going to get payback on EF? They’re going to Charlotte in the 1st rd and they’ll be coming home with an L.

  3. Don’t talk to fast i see charlotte Catholic in your horizon. Dudley will have a tough road in the playoffs it want be easy for them either. But I am a loyal guilford county guy I am pulling for all our guilford county teams in the playoffs no matter who is playing. Sometimes you have to put your differences aside.
