Vandalia Christian School Basketball Update:”The Time is Now”(their season starts tonight) Noah Dunn returns to lead the Vikings

The Vandalia Christian School Boys Varsity Basketball Team opens the regular season tonight on the road vs Winston Salem Christian School.

Vandalia comes into this season the reigning NCCSA 2A State Champions. With some key acquisitions from the JV team, the Vandalia Vikings set their sights on this season.

This past weekend, the Vikings participated in a pre-season tournament at Oak Ridge Military Academy.

They played 4 games against: Carolina International (Concord, NC), Piedmont Classical (Greensboro, NC), Oak Ridge Military Academy (Oak Ridge, NC) and North Carolina Leadership Academy (High Point, NC).

Vandalia came out victorious in each of those games, earning them tournament champions. Also, sophomore Noah Dunn earned tournament MVP averaging a double-double in each of the games.

Looking forward into the season, Coach Ryan Nelson hopes this team doesn’t dwell in the past and strives to get better each day in practice and in each game. This week, Vandalia is participating in the Carolina Classic Tournament in Durham NC on Thursday and Friday. The Vikings play at 1:45 on Thursday and the remaining games depend on wins or loses.

The Vandalia Vikings look to stay on top of the NCCSA 2A conference this year. But Coach Nelson says “one game at a time”.
