Three GTCC Titan baseball players inked National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers at 4-year institutions on Wednesday. Current Titan sophomores Zach Michalski, Matt Orth, and Alex Grooms made their commitments and signed during the early signing period for NCAA baseball programs.

Titan pitcher/1st baseman Zach Michalski (Greensboro, NC/Wesleyan) made his pledge to North Carolina Central University on Wednesday. NCCU is an NCAA Division I program that competes in the MEAC conference. Michalski weighed a number of offers before deciding to fly with the Eagles.

Lefty pitcher/outfielder Matt Orth (High Point, NC/SW Guilford) signed his Letter of Intent with Limestone College located in Gaffney, SC. Limestone is an NCAA Division II program that competes in Conference Carolinas. Orth also had a number of options to choose from before taking the Saints up on their offer.

Alex Grooms (Kings Mountain, NC/Kings Mountain), another left handed pitcher, also made his commitment to Limestone College on Wednesday. The hard throwing lefty, along with Orth, will look to contribute immediately to the Saints success next year.

In the meantime, these three are hard at work preparing for the upcoming spring season for the Guilford Tech. Look for these three to continue to grab headlines as they look to lead the Titans to a Region X title!

Congrats to all 3 on their commitments/signings!!!
