GREENSBORO, N.C. -The Greensboro College wrestling team fell to Davidson College 51-3 Thursday in its first ever home match.

Gabe Wilson recorded the Pride’s lone win of the evening by defeating Zach Jones, 5-2.

Andrew Chappell, Manny Garcia, and Thomas Propst also had strong showings.

“We saw a lot of very good things tonight despite being out matched in a couple of weight classes,” Head Coach Erik Wince said. “Gabe got the huge crowd fired up early with a win to open the match. The coaching staff and I are pleased with the progress to this point. We will continue encouraging them to stay the course and keep training. It will all come together when it counts the most.”

The Pride wrestling team will return to the mat Nov. 21 at the Southern Virginia Duels. For the latest on the Greensboro College wrestling team, continue to follow www.greensborocollegesports.com.
