ROTARY PRESENTS 12TH BOB SAWYER AWARD FOR 2015 SEASON GUILFORD COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Greensboro, NC – The Rotary Club of Greensboro has selected the 12th winner of the 2015 Bob Sawyer Guilford County Football Player of the Week. The award will be presented at the Rotary Meeting on Wednesday, November 18 at 12:40 pm. The meeting takes place at the Terrace at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex.

Winner: Kyin Howard
Coach: Doug Robertson
School: Eastern Guilford High School
Jersey Number: 2
Position: Inside Linebacker
Eastern vs. Rockingham County (28-10)

Inside Linebacker Kyin Howard provided all the defense that Eastern Guilford needed to keep the Cougars at bay last Friday, logging 13 tackles and 22 yards rushing for the Wildcats. As the Wildcats lead tackler for the season, Howard’s performance held the Cougars to only 10 points and secured a big win for Eastern Guilford.

His coach, Doug Robertson, remarks that Kyin is a hard worker on and off the field, especially this year as he comes off two ACL surgeries from previous seasons. He maintains a 3.5 GPA and acts as a leader for the football team. In the words of his coach, “Kyin is a fine young man and I cannot say enough positive things about him.”

Info on Award: The Bob Sawyer Award began in the fall of 2013 for Guilford County High School football players.
