“Obviously, this is not the outcome that we wanted but the credit goes to Coastal Carolina and the way it played,” head coach Jason Oliver said. “It was an emotional night for our seniors and I am excited to get back in the gym and work on Monday morning.”

Sophomore Camryn Freiberg paced HPU’s attack with nine digs to go with six digs. On the defensive side, it was senior Annemarie Chin who led the way with 13 digs as sophomore Haley Barnes posted six kills and nine digs.

In the third and final frame, the Purple & White took a 1-0 lead before a 6-0 run turned the set in CCU’s favor. However, HPU fought back to make it 6-5 behind kills from Barnes and Freiberg.
