+++++New numbers will be good/in place for the 2017-21 period…+++++
(Lots of 3-A schools under this plan/model.)

CLICK HERE to check out the new numbers for realignment and this will show you how all of the classifications will stack up….SWG, Smith, Dudley and SEG all falling back to 3-A from 4-A, while Ragsdale and High Point Central stay at 4-A, joining Page, Grimsley and Northwest up there…

New conferences(Initial Plans) will be announced in December from the NCHSAA….
from the NCHSAA:The lines have been drawn for the classifications using the approved 20/30/30/20 model, and those lines are set. Only the NCHSAA Board of Directors could elect to move a school in classification.

  1. Surely they move Western Guilford and Southern Guilford. They are the only schools that are in their conference in Guilford County. Gates receipts have really suffered because of this.

  2. We need to get one of those Guilford County 3-A Power Conferences going with:

    Dudley
    Eastern Guilford
    Northeast Guilford
    Northern Guilford
    Smith
    Southeast Guilford
    Southern Guilford
    Southwest Guilford
    Western Guilford

This might cut down on the amount of playoff bids we could receive in the post-season, but would be a boost to ticket sale and cut down on travel expenses…

    Looks good/sounds good on paper/net…

    Can we get a vote???

  3. I See these conferences

    North Forsyth
    Mt Tabor
    Parkland
    Western Guilford
    Southern Guilford
    Asheboro
    SW Randolph

    Dudley
    Smith
    N. Guilford
    SE Guilford
    NE Guilford
    Eastern Guilford

    Western Alamance
    Williams
    McMichael
    Rockinghan
    Eastern Alamance
    Southern Alamance
    Morehead

Why keep SG & WG out of Guilford County? Do you have any idea how that impacts fuel costs and low attendance at events?

  5. I know this is guilford county, but the Rockingham County schools get the shaft having to go over an hour travel time for each Alamance county school they would play, and vice versa for Almance. Just doesnt ever seem to be a fair way to do these type of things

  6. I would love to see this conference for the Guilford/Greensboro Schools. Some of them have not ever played like Dudley vs. Eastern Guilford or Dudley vs. Southern Guilford. I think this would have a large gate per game in a lot of sports between these schools.

    Dudley
    Eastern Guilford
    Northern Guilford
    Northeast Guilford
    Smith
    Southern Guilford
    Southeast Guilford

    Eastern Alamance
    McMicheal
    Morehead
    Rockingham Co.
    Western Alamance
    Burlington Williams
    Southern Alamance

    Mt. Tabor
    North Forsyth
    Parkland
    Southwest Guilford
    Western Guilford

  7. Curious to see what the 4A conferences look like around here. I may have missed a few but I only counted 11 area schools, 10 if you exclude Davie County. Five team conference is pretty small but I could see

    Northwest
    Ragsdale
    Page
    Grimsley
    Hp Central

    then

    East Forsyth
    West Forsyth
    Glenn
    Regan
    Reyonlds
    Davie Co

Don’t see any other way to do it

  8. I just put them together that way due to geographical set up. The Randolph county school will have to go somewhere but they are already in a conference with W Guilford and S. Guilford and N Forsyth. So since two schools will be leaving, Ledford and C. Davidson two could come in Parkland and Tabor.

  9. Why would SEG and Dudley not be in the same conference? Yes there is bad blood but the NCHSAA is suppose to do this thing based on geography. Common sense geography says they should be together.

Why would Rockingham Co. schools have to drive through Guilford County (and pass other 3A schools to get to Alamance Co. schools. Common sense geography says this should not happen.

Lots of possibilities for conferences but these suggestions do not make sense.

I would love to hear other peoples thoughts on what they think will happen.

  10. @ Common Sense what does make sense ? It’s a 50 min drive from Eden to Burlington vs. 45 mins from Eden to Dudley High for example. Yes Northern & Northeast are closer to the Rockingham Co. border, but maybe people that lived in Guilford Co/Greensboro want to see traditional & NEW match ups of the City/ County Schools here. Why would you not have Northern Guilford, Northeast Guilford, Dudley, Eastern Guilford, Southeast Guilford, Southern Guilford & Smith High not be in the same conference ? All these school districts are bumping up against each other, the kids all know one another to the most part and the people in the communities know each other. I’m not trying to put aside the Rockingham Co. Schools, but Morehead has played Barlett Yancy {Caswell Co.}, Burlington Cummings & Williams, Western Alamance & Graham for decades nobody complain. {I went to John M. Morehead High 1988}. Heck they use to play G.W. Danville, Martinville, Va, North Stokes & S. Stokes too….those weren’t 15 mins drives either !!! The same travel time to Burlington is the same travel time to Alamance Co. taking Hwy 87.
