Southwest hit the road to square off against the Villains of Bishop McGuinness.
The Villains were looking to be the first to knock off the Cowboys on this still young season, while Southwest is coming off some convincing wins thanks to their defensive efforts.
The Boys turned up the defensive pressure very early. The teams traded baskets with the hosting Villains taking a 4-3 lead. That wasn’t to last long as the Cowboys put their foot on the gas and went on an explosive 22-6 run to close out the frame at 25-9.
The second quarter was all Cowboys. Literally. The only Villain points were a pair of free throws with 2:23 left in the half as Southwest put the clamps down making it 38-11.
The second half was a change of pace but not a change in defensive effort by the visitors as the lead continued to swell until the running clock out put the finishing touches on a dominant 66-24 road win for the Cowboys.
The Villains were led by CJ Cappucio and Devon Woods with 6 apiece. The Cowboys were led by Kobe Langley (14, 2 Stls), Keyshaun Langley (13, 3 Stls, 2 Rebs), and Kameron Langley (10, 6 Rebs, 5 Asts, 5 Stls and 2 Blks).
Southwest also got great contributions from Seniors Orlando Smith (9, 4 Asts, 3 Rebs, 3 Stls), and Kaymon Mitchell (9, 9 Rebs, 3 Asts, 3 Stls). Next up for Southwest is a tough matchup with West Forsyth.
Bishop McGuinness lost a tough one at home Monday night to a stout SW Guilford. The Villains travel to North Wilkes Wednesday evening before jumping into conference action.

I see SW will play Bishop but they wont play any other private schools?? Wonder why that is? Be nice to see SW play Wesleyan and HPCA, since SW apparently has one of the best public school team in the area.
Seems like you have a bone to pick. Do you know that those conversations haven’t been had and things just didn’t work out? It takes two to tango. And I believe in the last few years they’ve played Westchester and Greensboro Day, so…
