GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford and Western Guilford battled back and forth during an entertaining rivalry game in a terrific environment for high school basketball. The Vikings were finally able to establish control and ended the game on a 22-8 run to put the final score at 95-80 for a victory over the Hornets. The Vikings calmed themselves on the court to execute their offense during the decisive run despite Western Guilford’s spirited effort.
–Reggie Davis led Northwest with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Jaylen Gore added 19 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds while Jalen Spicer finished with 17 points, 12 assists, and 4 steals.
–Tre Turner played a solid all-around game for Northwest as he contributed 13 points, 10 rebounds, 7 steals, and 5 assists. David Funderburg also provided a nice paint presence as he posted 10 points and 6 rebounds for the Vikings. Matt Rakes came off the bench again for Northwest to contribute a solid 10 points while fulfilling a significant role.
–Ce’darius Dockery led the scoring for the Hornets with 28 points. Michael Giles and Raekwon Dean added 21 and 11 points respectively for Western Guilford.
