High Point Andrews girls top Wilmington Ashley in Leon Brogden Invitational at UNC-Wilmington:Hall, Taylor and Quick make it stick for Raiders

T.W. Andrews(High Point) 57, Wilmington Ashley 47

The HP Andrews Red Raiders outscored Ashley 14-4 in overtime to record a 57-47 victory late Wednesday afternoon.

Kyree Hall led all scorers with 15 points for T.W. Andrews. She scored 10 points after the break and went 7 of 7 from the free throw line. Jazlin Taylor added 14 points and Jordan Quick chipped in with 12 to put three Red Raiders in double digits.

With Ashley trailing by two in the waning seconds of the fourth quarter, Morgan Carpenter hit a layup just before the buzzer to send the game into an extra four minute period.

The Screaming Eagles carried a 23-20 advantage at the half and led by six after three quarters of play. Carly Baron hit three shots from long range to finish with a team-high 13 points, while Dana Craig chipped in with 11 for Ashley.

T.W. Andrews went 2-1 over the three day tournament with back-to-back results, while Ashley went 1-2 during the holiday break.
