*****Got any predictions on this game???*****

Preview of the game that will be played on Friday night at Guilford College, with the Greensboro Day School Bengals meeting the High Point Christian Academy Cougars….Game time is set for 7:30pm and HPCA will be the home team and HPCA will be the favored team…Many outlets picking the Cougars by 7-8 points and 76-70 might be a good score to lean on, as they head toward the tip on Friday evening…

Coach Freddy Johnson of GDS is calling HPCA big man Bam Adebayo the “Difference Maker” and the Kentucky commit is considered legit and probably too legit to quit and we’ll see if both teams can overcome the pregame hype and slow down enough to get their focus on, on Friday night in the Ragan Brown Field House at Guilford College…

Tip time again is set for 7:30 for the boys and though they have sort of been a non-issue in all the talk prior to the game, the young ladies from both schools will begin their game at 6pm, on the same floor inside the Ragan Brown Field House….

Preview of Bam Adebayo, Ty Graves, Michael Huiett, Jalen Seegars, Michael Seals and others from HPCA, plus JP Moorman, John Newman, Jordan Perkins, Will Dillard, Travon Mayo and others from GDS, all covered at the News and Record’s High School XTRA section with Joe Sirera and can see the full rundown of the upcoming game when you

Bam with 32 points for HPCA

  • Defense said,

Defense will win this game . I will give the edge to GDS in that. Johnson teams always play great defense and even though HPCA is the better team – I think GDS wins because Johnson will out coach HPCA young coach. I’ve seen both teams play and defense is HPCA short comings. HPCA plays the big fella out front on defense way too much and they struggle with stopping ball penetration- Bam is rarely under basket….scratch my head on that. HPCA also plays Bam out on the corners and rarely plays with his back to basket in the post. In game adjustments by Johnson will give GDS the upset.

  • Over by half said,

HPC will win by 12-15 pts. The HPC coach has the best offensive mind of any local coach. This is the best set of players that he has ever had and it will show tonight. Several of these players such as Ty will have extra motivation from losing to GDS while at Page. HPC was competitive with GDS last year. GDS is down on good players while HPC has double what they had last year. If HPC can hit 3’s, then this game will be over by halftime.

Greensboro Day led at halftime. Sometimes an all-star team with youthful coaching may not defeat a team with the better leader.

Way to go Freddy on a GREAY WIN—- predicated it earlier
    in the day

HPC could not hit their 3’s thus they went down.

HPC Community College loses again. How many D1 players do you need? Give Freddy that team and he wins a National Championship.
