Here is the score for tonight’s NW Guilford HS at Ragsdale HS Varsity Boys game.

Tonight the Ragsdale Tigers opened Piedmont Triad 4A Conference play against Vikings of Northwest Guilford High School. Both schools came into tonight’s game with 9 wins on the season, and would look to open the conference portion of their schedule with an important win.

Right off the opening tap, the Vikings would dominate the Tigers in all facets of the game. NW Guilford ran out to an early 18-0 lead to begin the game and would never look back. The Vikings lead by the score of 27-3 after one period. In the second period, the Tigers would rebound somewhat and play pretty evenly on the scoreboard with their conference rivals, but NW Guilford would still hold a commanding 48-23 lead at the halftime intermission. The third quarter was once again close on the scoreboard. The Vikings would use another big run in the 4th quarter to extend their lead to as much as 38 points, cruising to the win tonight on the road by the final score of 90-52.

Ragsdale was led by Junior Greyson Collins with 16 points on the evening. NW Guilford placed three men in double figure scoring, with Tre Turner scoring a game-high 21 points, Jalen Spicer with 14 and Reggie Davis with 13.

Ragsdale drops to 9 – 5 overall and 0 – 1 in the Piedmont Triad 4A Conference. NW Guilford improves to 10 – 2 overall and 1 – 0 in the conference.

GAME NOTES:
–Northwest Guilford used an early 18-0 run during the first 5 minutes of the 1st quarter versus Ragsdale on their way to a 90-52 conference road victory. The Vikings accumulated 27 assists on 34 made field goals as they displayed and enjoyable brand of unselfish basketball. Ragsdale put up a valiant effort, but ultimately was unable to keep up with Northwest’s pace.
–Tre Turner led Northwest with 21 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists. Jalen Spicer contributed a double-double of 16 points and 10 assists to go along with 5 rebounds. Reggie Davis also finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists for the Vikings.
–Jaylen Gore played another solid game for Northwest as he totaled 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. Thomas Hennigan provided a burst of energy at crucial times for the Vikings as he chipped in with 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists.
–Greyson Collins led Ragsdale with 15 points while Elijah Joyner and Jarious Drayton added 9 and 7 points respectively.

    27-3 after the 1st Qtr. Ragsdale has not been competitive since Canty..

    On a separate note, the Ragsdale students should really be commended for their enthusiastic support of their team from the opening tap to the final buzzer. They had a great turnout, and cheered every basket made by their team as if it were crucial. Very few if any left early. One of the NW players mentioned to me that it really helped him stay fully engaged even in the latter part of the game. Kudos to them!
